Speed up your siting decisions from the comfort of desktop
Selecting the right location is the make-or-break factor for the success of a wind or solar energy project.
Site Suitability module of GenRay EXPLORER™ performs Desktop Site Surveys and allows users to screen multiple sites. With this tool, you can shortlist those sites, which are worth developing using factors such as:
Land Use / Classification
Soil bearing capacity & slope
Natural Disaster Risks (like Earthquakes/Floods)
Distance to Transmission Network
Distance to Road Network
Exclusion Zones (such as Forests and Sanctuaries, Military bases, and Airports zones with height restrictions etc.)
GenRay EXPLORER™ with Site Suitability Module offers a complete perspective to stakeholders in performing project pre-feasibility assessment keeping costs and risks at bay, thereby leading to the development path of a successful project.
Make smarter and risk-free decisions with resource modeling
Even before a wind or solar project is conceptualized, it is imperative to establish where the resources exist, what is their availability and variability at a site. Such a measurement help developers estimate the amount of electricity that can be generated at a site. However, lack of such data along with information on geographic concentration of existing infrastructure can seriously prove to be detrimental to the overall feasibility of a project resulting in badly planned sites. Not only this, it would also negatively affect funding efforts as risks and uncertainties increase.
In response to the need for reliable data on resources for global locations, we are developing continuous weather information by applying advanced modelling techniques including Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP). The modelling is being carried out over multi-year time periods to support renewable energy assessment, mapping, and geospatial planning. The modeled outputs are validated against ground weather station observations to provide higher degree of accuracy.
