Making right decision about sites is arguably the single most important factor in determining the profitability of an infrastructure project. In the case of energy projects, it impacts the overall cost of energy that the project will produce and in turn, its affordability by consumers and off-takers.
Identifying sites for infrastructure projects require interplay of multiple factors such as environmental, social, technical and economical to index various locations before a few of them could be considered feasible for further investigations. Our tool on Optimum Site Selection is aimed at supporting development decisions by offering a comprehensive Multi Criteria Evaluation (MCE) integrated with GIS-powered infrastructure mapping to identify or assess feasible project zones.
The MCE-based tool considers wind or solar resources availability and variability, terrain complexity, grid connectivity and proximity, topography including elevations, land usage and cover, off-takers among other factors.
